In Tagaytay, b&b cavans and inns elbow each other on both sides of the street. One side offers views of breathtaking Taal while the other romances the senses in verdant glory. Usually. Now comes a fairly recent addition to the city’s b&b cavan industry: Vanilla Suites, and it offers both views of the volcano and its lake, plus, unbelievably lush gardens boasting of tall trees, mature bamboo, fat ferns, riotous vines, fragrant flowers, soft grass…

Traveling on the main road, Vanilla Suites is not instantly seen, perhaps because there is no discernible structure from the onset. Rather, one goes down a steep road from the entrance to the b&b cavan’s parking area. And just like the yummy sounding name on the signage that manages to pull the curious inside and check out the place, you’ll instantly feel that there’s something special with the way the trees tower above you…with the way everything is so green!

Not surprisingly, this garden has been lovingly nurtured f or many, many years. Vanilla Suites started as a resthouse and private summer getaway before it was opened to those seeking new and wonderful accommodations in Tagaytay. Now the garden is fully-grown and covers the whole area, making Vanilla Suites a cozy, relaxing retreat. Couples, honeymooners and even entire families will love the meandering footpaths that lead to open spaces and private nooks, including a large white swing where a family of three can comfortably fit. The soothing sound of water comes from a cascading water fountain. Wind rustling through adult bamboo groves rests the mind and calms the soul. A big, red-bricked paved area with tall trees is perfect for weddings, parties and other special occasions.

The suites, each spacious and simply furnished, done predominantly in white, provide the oasis that makes for a good vacation. Each of the three suites has a king-size bed, cable and WIFI for those who cannot bear not to be connected. The two bigger rooms also have LCD TV for maximum viewing pleasure. One suite has rustic porch out front facing the gardens. The piece de resistance? The Honeymoon suites with glass walls overlooking majestic Taal lake.

Read more reviews of Vanilla Suites and other Tagaytay b&b cavans at ActivePhilippines.com.
